Using outer space to explore Inner Spaces.
Inner Spaces is an art collection that explores the planetary forces shaping our inner and outer worlds, weaving astrology, art, and personal experience into a visual and conceptual journey. This project is an invitation to explore not just astrology, but the deeper forces guiding our personal evolution. I created this series to aid in my personal learning, so each piece will have an accompanying blog where I share what I’ve learned and how I connect the themes to my art. Let’s dive in —
1. Core Themes & Energy
- Keywords: Illusion, intuition, dreams, mysticism, transcendence, surrender.
- Rulership: Neptune (Pisces — 12th house: spirituality, imagination, dissolution of boundaries).
- Element: Water.
- Modality: Mutable (fluidity, adaptability, merging with the unknown).
2. Symbolism & Influence
- Neptune is the great dissolver, blurring the lines between reality and fantasy, the conscious and the subconscious. It governs the unseen realms—dreams, illusions, spirituality, and deep imagination—where boundaries fade and perception shifts.
- Neptune’s energy flows without restriction, moving between dimensions, like the tides of the ocean, shaping and reshaping our understanding of existence.
- It is the planet of mysticism and transcendence, dissolving the ego to connect us with something greater.
- The influence of Neptune is often subtle, working beneath the surface, guiding us through intuition, dreams, and synchronicities.
3. Astrological & Seasonal Connection
- Neptune transits bring heightened intuition, deep emotions, and spiritual awakenings.
- In mythology, Neptune (Poseidon) rules the ocean of the subconscious, vast, powerful, and ever-changing.
- It’s the first planet we can’t see without the aid of a telescope, giving it an energy of faith, symbolizing realms beyond what the eye can perceive.
4. Neptune’s Influence & Who It Affects Most
- Mutable Signs: Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius, and Pisces may feel deeply connected to their inner world and emotions.
- Natal Chart Influence: Those with strong Neptune aspects experience heightened creativity, spiritual sensitivity, and dreamlike perception.
- Duration of Influence: Neptune’s energy is slow and subtle, working beneath the surface over time.
5. How Neptune’s Energy Manifests for Different Signs
- Pisces: A deepening of intuition and emotional connection to the unseen.
- Gemini: A blurring of logic and fantasy, bringing creative insights or confusion.
- Virgo: A challenge to surrender control and embrace fluidity.
- Sagittarius: A spiritual expansion, dissolving old beliefs to make room for new ones.
- Neptune invites us to release expectations, trust in flow, and explore the liminal spaces of existence.
6. Expression in the Art Piece
- Neptune’s Dream embodies the essence of drifting between worlds, capturing the surreal and ethereal.
- The soft, blended textures reflect Neptune’s dissolving nature, where boundaries fade.
- The movement in the painting represents the fluid and ever-shifting nature of the planet’s energy.
- I wanted to capture a sense of weightlessness and a dreamlike quality.
- This piece is an invitation to explore the landscapes of your imagination.
7. Deeper Exploration
- Mythology: Neptune’s realm is the ocean — deep, mysterious, and limitless — just like our subconscious.
- Personal Reflection: Where in your life do you need to let go and flow with the current? What dreams or visions are calling you? How do you connect with your imagination?
- Integration: Trust that not everything needs to be understood logically — some things are meant to be felt and experienced.
